Plateau voodoo

Plateau levels are all guesstimates.  These are some of the runs I do with my canoeist buddies The Lost Tribe.  I asked my friend S about min and max levels for Crab Orchard, Little Clear, and Island.  The guesstimates are based on USGS Lilly and Oakdale gauges.

NEW Streambeam gauge for Piney - this would theoretically provide estimates for nearby creeks once we get correlations: https://www.streambeam.net/Home/Gauge?siteID=TN001

S.:  "Look for 1200 on clear creek Lilly gauge. 1.5 minimum LCC visual gauge, 0.5 minimum for Island gauge. For crab orchard I use water level on concrete apron at the put in. I really should start using the put in gauge.
Not really sure about max on anything. People ran Crab this morning (3/28/21). No way I would have been there today." - Lilly is 19000 at this writing -.
I then asked about Crooked Fork.  I've only done the lower section.  It is fun even though the water quality more resembles Alabama's chicken than Tennessee park water.  And unfortunately it's not chicken.  There's a wastewater treatment plant up top.  S tells me he doesn't really know about Crooked Fork levels, though I have been on it with him.  Checking my main blog, I ran CF at 4.1 and  3.9 when I remembered to make note of levels, I presume at a painted bridge gauge.  For the 3.9 level I added that Emory was 5000 at Oakdale gauge.
Daddy's creek I have only been down once that I blogged, at 1.8.  It is one of the best runs I have ever done, gorgeous scenery, beautiful clear water, with some challenging rapids that come pretty close together.  I have been told that above 2.0 ft. its character changes and it becomes a whole different level of difficulty.  I am going to guess minimum for Daddy's is 1.4. S tells me he ran it at 1.0 and it was scary due to the undercuts.  I believe it.  There is one undercut in particular, at the runout of a rapid called Rocking Chair, that I want nothing to do with.  There is a small tree on river right that you basically aim for to get the right line at Rocking Chair, specifically to avoid the undercut.
Whites is one of the best runs, not too hard, not too easy, and great water quality.  Unfortunately it has no gauge except a visual one.  A local usually posts a photo of it on FB when people are curious if it is in.  I have done lower Whites several times, but I hear Upper Whites is great as well, if it is in.  Nearby is the Piney and Tiny Piney, and Mammy's.  I haven't done any of these yet.
